CONCEPT OF POINT MASS OBJECT

When an object in motion covers a large distance as compare to its size or dimension, then to study the motion of the that object, its size or dimension can be neglected and can be regarded as a point object.

thus we can say that can be considered as a point object motion in a given time, it cover distance much greater than its size.

For example- A car travelling a few miles distance , can be taken as point mass object. But if car travelling a distance which is not very large as compared to the size of the car then the car can not be taken as point object.
